Trade Minister Piyush Goyal departed for Singapore to take part in the fourth India‑Singapore Ministerial and Business Roundtables aimed at strengthening bilateral trade ties.

Piyush Goyal, India's Minister of Commerce and Industry, left for Singapore on a diplomatic visit to attend the fourth India‑Singapore Ministerial and Business Roundtables. The series of meetings, co‑hosted by the two governments, focuses on expanding trade, investment and technology collaboration between the two economies.

The roundtables bring together senior officials, business leaders and industry bodies from both countries to discuss opportunities in sectors such as digital services, renewable energy, and supply‑chain diversification. Organisers expect the dialogue to result in concrete proposals for reducing trade barriers and facilitating joint ventures.

Goyal's itinerary includes bilateral talks with Singaporean Trade Minister Gan Kim Yong, followed by sector‑specific panels and a networking session with Indian and Singaporean enterprises. The event marks a continuation of the strategic partnership that has grown since the inaugural roundtable in 2020.

Analysts view the meeting as a timely effort to boost Indo‑Singapore trade, especially as both nations seek alternative markets amid global supply‑chain disruptions. Outcomes from the roundtables are likely to feed into upcoming trade negotiations and policy reforms in both capitals.
