A 24‑year‑old tractor engine driver died on Sunday after his vehicle hit a tree and fell into a pit on the Shahdol‑Rewa main road near a UP dhaba.
On Sunday morning, a fatal road accident occurred on the Shahdol‑Rewa main road in the Jaisinhangar police jurisdiction of Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident happened near a roadside eatery popularly known as UP Dhaba. The victim, identified as 24‑year‑old tractor engine driver Durga Baiga, was operating his tractor when it struck a tree on the side of the road. The impact caused the vehicle to lose control and plunge into a shallow pit that lay adjacent to the roadway.
Local witnesses reported that the tractor’s engine was already in motion when the driver attempted to navigate a narrow stretch flanked by trees. The sudden collision caused the engine to tip over, and the heavy machinery fell into the depression, crushing the driver beneath it. Emergency services were alerted immediately, but the severity of the injuries proved fatal.
Police officials arrived at the scene, secured the area, and began an investigation into the cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that poor road conditions and inadequate signage may have contributed to the mishap. The body of the deceased was later recovered and handed over to his family. No other injuries were reported.
