Within days of the monsoon break, safari bookings at Kanha and Bandhavgarh tiger reserves have sold out, drawing large numbers of visitors.

The monsoon hiatus for wildlife tourism in Madhya Pradesh ended this week, and both Kanha and Bandhavgarh tiger reserves have reported a surge in visitor interest. Safari slots opened immediately after the rains, and the initial allotments were booked out within hours, prompting a rush of tourists eager to spot the state's iconic big cats.

Travel agencies and the forest department confirmed that the demand far exceeded the available capacity, leading to a waiting list for many would‑be visitors. The reserves, which are among India's premier tiger habitats, have reinstated their guided jeep and canter tours, with standard entry fees and additional charges for vehicle hire.

Officials said the full bookings reflect growing confidence in wildlife safety measures and the appeal of seeing tigers in their natural environment after a prolonged dry spell. The forest department has urged prospective tourists to plan ahead and secure permits through the official online portal to avoid disappointment.
