The Tipra Motha party has announced its ambition to secure between 470 and 500 seats in the upcoming village committee elections in Tripura.
Tipra Motha has publicly stated its goal of winning 470 to 500 seats in the village committee elections scheduled in Tripura.
Village committees serve as the grassroots level of local governance in the state, with hundreds of such bodies spread across its districts. Securing a large number of seats would give the party significant influence over community decision‑making.
The regional party, which represents tribal interests in Tripura, sees this push as a way to strengthen its presence in local administration and to further its broader political agenda.
If successful, Tipra Motha would hold a majority of seats in many village committees, potentially reshaping the political landscape of rural Tripura and enhancing its voice in state affairs.
