A tigress has been observed traversing 150 km across forested areas linking Umred-Karhandla and Pench Tiger Reserve, highlighting her extensive roaming range.
Forest officials reported that a female tiger covered a distance of 150 kilometres between Umred-Karhandla and Pench Tiger Reserve.
The route spanned dense forests across multiple districts, indicating the animal’s ability to navigate diverse terrains.
Such long‑range movements suggest healthy genetic flow and a well‑connected tiger population between the two protected areas.
Wildlife authorities will continue monitoring the tiger’s movements to assess habitat connectivity and inform future conservation plans.
