Three residents of Sitamarhi district died after a live electrical wire was found in a field and was touched, officials said.
Sitamarhi district in Bihar reported a tragic incident on which three villagers lost their lives after inadvertently touching an exposed live electric wire that had been laid across a cultivated field. The victims, all local residents, were reportedly working in the farmland when they came into contact with the energized cable, resulting in fatal electric shocks.
Local authorities were alerted immediately after the incident. The bodies were taken to a nearby hospital for confirmation of death, and the families have been informed.
The incident has prompted officials to urge farmers and villagers to report any stray or exposed electrical lines promptly. The electricity department has announced a sweep of the area to locate and secure any other potentially hazardous wires, aiming to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
