Police in Amritsar uncovered three illegal weapons networks and detained eight suspects.
Local law‑enforcement agencies in Amritsar conducted a coordinated operation that exposed three separate networks involved in the illegal trade of firearms. The raids targeted storage sites and transit points identified through intelligence inputs.
During the action, eight individuals suspected of facilitating the procurement, storage, and distribution of unlicensed weapons were taken into custody. Authorities confirmed that the arrested persons are linked to the three distinct networks uncovered in the city.
Investigators said the operation is part of a broader effort to curb illicit arms circulation in Punjab and that further inquiries will continue to identify additional conspirators and recover any seized weapons.
