Thousands of Shiv devotees trek 11 km Kawad Yatra from Sevan River to Kubereswar Dham in Sehore

Despite rain, thousands of Shiva devotees walked the 11‑km Kawad pilgrimage from the Sevan River to Kubereswar Dham in Sehore during the final phase of Sawan.
Sehore witnessed a massive Kawad Yatra in the concluding days of the Sawan month, observed on the auspicious Pradosh occasion. Devotees set out from the banks of the Sevan River, embarking on an 11‑kilometre trek that culminated at the Kubereswar Dham shrine, a traditional route revered by Shiva worshippers.
Organisers reported that, despite intermittent rain, several thousand participants joined the procession, carrying holy water in decorated pots (kawads) and chanting devotional hymns. The crowd, led by local priest Pradeep Mishra, maintained a steady pace, covering the entire distance without major disruptions.
The pilgrimage underscores the deep-rooted Shaivite traditions of central India, where such long‑distance walks are undertaken to seek divine blessings during the monsoon season.
