Ten dead in Sagar as toxic liquor claims lives, 25+ hospitalized

Authorities confirm ten fatalities after consumption of suspected poisonous liquor in villages of Bunda area, Sagar, with over 25 patients referred to district hospital.
The district administration of Sagar has officially confirmed that ten people have died after ingesting liquor suspected to be contaminated with poison in several villages of the Bunda region. The victims were from multiple households and were admitted to local health centres before succumbing to the effects of the toxic brew.
More than twenty-five patients who consumed the same batch of liquor are being transferred to Sagar district hospital for advanced treatment and monitoring. Medical teams are providing supportive care while laboratory tests are underway to identify the exact nature of the contaminant.
Collector‑SP Amit Singh and senior police officials are on the ground overseeing the response. The police and excise department have launched a joint investigation to trace the source of the illicit liquor, seize any remaining stock and hold those responsible accountable.
