The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for 24 October, forecasting temperatures below 20°C in more than 15 cities and a likelihood of rain across several regions.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather change alert for 24 October, indicating that temperatures will dip below the 20°C mark in over fifteen cities across the country. The cooling trend is expected to affect major urban centres in the north, central and western zones, where daytime highs have typically hovered around the mid‑20s.
Alongside the temperature drop, the IMD has highlighted a moderate chance of rainfall in several of these locations. Meteorologists attribute the moisture to an approaching western disturbance that is set to move eastward, bringing scattered showers especially in the early evening hours.
Authorities have advised residents to carry light jackets and be prepared for wet conditions on the roads. The forecast is part of a broader seasonal outlook that anticipates a cooler spell before temperatures rise again later in the month.
