A student from Telangana who was studying in Boston has been reported missing, prompting the state’s education minister to request assistance from the Ministry of External Affairs and Boston police.
A student from the Indian state of Telangana, currently enrolled in a university in Boston, USA, was reported missing earlier this week. Local authorities were alerted after the family failed to make contact and the student did not appear for scheduled classes.
The Telangana education minister, responding to the family's distress, has formally appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs for diplomatic support and has also sought direct coordination with the Boston Police Department to accelerate the search.
MEA officials confirmed that a liaison officer has been assigned to the case and are working closely with U.S. law‑enforcement agencies. Boston police have opened a missing‑person investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage and campus records.
Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and have advised the student’s family to stay in touch with the Indian embassy in Washington, D.C., for updates.
