State excise data shows Telangana's liquor revenue has crossed Rs 755 crore before the Dasara celebrations.
The Telangana Excise Department reported that total liquor sales in the state have reached Rs 755 crore in the run‑up to the Dasara festival. This figure aggregates revenue from both country liquor and Indian Made Foreign Liquor sold through government‑licensed outlets across the state.
Dasara, a major cultural and religious event, typically drives higher consumption of alcoholic beverages, and the department’s data indicates a strong fiscal performance this year. Officials said the collection reflects robust demand and effective enforcement of licensing norms.
The Rs 755 crore tally is expected to bolster the state’s finances, contributing to welfare schemes and infrastructure projects funded through excise revenue. The department will continue to monitor sales trends as the festival progresses.
