Police officers on patrol in Begusarai district recovered the semi‑naked corpse of a teenage girl, estimated to be about 17 years old, from the Baya River early Monday. The body was found floating near the riverbank and was immediately secured by local law‑enforcement teams.
Preliminary visual examination revealed marks on the victim’s neck and other parts of her body, prompting investigators to treat the case as a possible homicide rather than an accidental drowning.
