The charred remains of 19‑year‑old private‑school teacher Palak Kumari, missing for 40 days, were uncovered in a mango orchard in Dumri village, Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. Police have detained her mother, elder sister and two others.

A 19‑year‑old private‑school teacher named Palak Kumari, who vanished from Dumri village in the Yajuar police‑station area of Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, was reported missing for 40 days. Her disappearance prompted a local search effort by family members and police.

On the 40th day, investigators excavated a mango garden in the same village and recovered a charred body, which forensic experts later identified as Palak Kumari. The body showed signs of severe burning, indicating it had been concealed underground.

Following the discovery, police placed four individuals in custody: Palak's mother, her elder sister, and two other persons who were present at the site. The arrests were made on suspicion of involvement in the teacher's disappearance and death.

Authorities have opened a criminal investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the murder and to establish a motive. Further details will be released as the case progresses.
