Teacher Eligibility Test Application Deadline Extended to Sept 18, Offline Option Added

The application deadline for the Teacher Eligibility Test has been moved to September 18, and candidates will now be able to choose an offline examination mode following a Supreme Court directive.
The Ministry of Education announced that the last date for submitting applications for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has been extended to 18 September. The change comes after the original deadline saw a markedly low number of applicants, prompting officials to give aspirants more time to register.
The extension follows a recent order from the Supreme Court, which directed the government to ensure that the examination process remains accessible to all eligible candidates. In response, the authorities have also approved an offline mode of the test, allowing candidates to appear at designated centers rather than solely online.
The revised schedule gives prospective teachers an additional two weeks to complete their applications and prepare for the exam. Candidates can now opt for either the online or offline format, with details on test centers and registration procedures to be released on the official TET portal shortly.
