The ruling TDP-led coalition won 17 out of 87 urban local bodies in Andhra Pradesh without contest, according to the election commission. This marks a significant advantage for the coalition as it gains control over key municipal administrations.
The election commission announced that the ruling TDP-led bloc secured 17 of the 87 urban local bodies in Andhra Pradesh uncontested. These victories mean the coalition will take over municipal corporations, municipalities, and nagar panchayats without a vote, giving them administrative control. The remaining 70 bodies will still be contested, but the early wins give the coalition a head start ahead of the scheduled elections.
