Nurses across Tamil Nadu have begun a hunger strike demanding permanent contracts instead of temporary recruitment, citing job insecurity and inadequate benefits.
Nurses in Tamil Nadu have initiated a hunger strike to protest the use of contractual recruitment in hospitals. The workers argue that temporary contracts leave them without job security, pension benefits, and adequate wages. Hospital administrators have not yet issued a formal response to the protest. The strike could affect patient care if it continues, prompting authorities to consider negotiations.
