The Drug Repression Unit in Tamil Nadu recovered 137 kg of suspected methamphetamine and detained four suspects in Nagapattinam.

The Drug Repression Unit (DRI) of Tamil Nadu announced that it has seized 137 kg of suspected methamphetamine during a raid in Nagapattinam district.

Police officials said the drugs were found in a warehouse near the port area and were packed in sealed containers. The operation was carried out with the assistance of the local police and the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Four individuals were arrested at the scene and are currently in custody at the Nagapattinam police station. Authorities have not yet released details about the suspects’ identities or the intended distribution network.

The seizure is part of a broader anti‑drug campaign in the state, which has seen a rise in methamphetamine trafficking in recent months.
