Chief Minister Vijay will officially open a newly built bus stand and indoor stadium in Pudukkottai on November 2, marking a boost to the town’s transport and sports infrastructure.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is scheduled to preside over the inauguration ceremony of a new bus stand and an indoor stadium in the historic town of Pudukkottai on November 2. The twin projects, completed by ET Infra, are part of the state government's push to upgrade regional transport hubs and provide modern sports facilities for local youth.
The bus stand, built on a spacious plot near the town centre, features covered platforms, digital information displays and improved parking capacity. Officials say the facility will streamline intercity bus services and reduce congestion at the existing terminal.
Adjacent to the bus stand, the indoor stadium is equipped with a standard-size court, spectator seating and basic amenities, aiming to host state‑level tournaments and community events. The inauguration is expected to draw local officials, business leaders and residents, highlighting Pudukkottai’s growing role in Tamil Nadu’s development agenda.
The projects were funded through a combination of state allocations and private partnership, reflecting the government's emphasis on public‑private collaboration for infrastructure growth. Completion of the facilities is slated for early December, with operations to commence shortly after the ceremony.
