Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister has unveiled a 100% waiver on crop loans up to ₹75,000, with further relief for larger loan amounts.
Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister announced a new farmer‑friendly scheme that will cancel crop loans in full up to ₹75,000.
Under the 100% waiver, farmers who have taken loans for sowing, cultivation or post‑harvest activities will see their debt eliminated for amounts not exceeding ₹75,000.
The government also indicated that those with loans above the ₹75,000 threshold will receive additional relief, though the exact terms for higher amounts have not yet been disclosed.
