Supreme Court Orders Exams for 1.5 Lakh Madhya Pradesh Teachers, Primary First

The Supreme Court has directed that about 150,000 teachers in Madhya Pradesh undergo qualification tests in two phases, with primary teachers to be examined first, likely in November‑December.
The Supreme Court, responding to petitions concerning teacher eligibility, issued an order that mandates qualification examinations for roughly 1.5 lakh teachers in Madhya Pradesh. The directive applies to both primary and secondary level educators across the state.
The examinations will be conducted in separate stages. The first phase will target primary school teachers, followed by a second phase for secondary school teachers. Officials anticipate that the primary‑level test will be scheduled for November or December, with the secondary exam to follow thereafter.
State education authorities have been instructed to design the test pattern, issue notifications and ensure that the process is completed within the stipulated timeline. The move aims to standardise teacher credentials and improve the overall quality of education in Madhya Pradesh.
