On Tuesday, sugarcane farmers gathered at the Vijayapura toll gate in Karnataka to demand a higher price for their crop.
They are calling for a rate of ₹5,500 per tonne, citing falling market prices and mounting debts.

Authorities have not yet responded with a concrete offer, and the farmers expect negotiations to continue.
