Strong 40 km/h gusts threaten Dussehra Ravana effigy burn in Madhya Pradesh

The weather department has issued an advisory for Madhya Pradesh ahead of Dussehra celebrations, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by wind speeds reaching 40 kilometres per hour. The forecast covers the evening hours when communities traditionally light large Ravana effigies as part of the festival. Authorities have urged local officials to monitor the situation closely and to take precautionary measures, such as securing the effigies and keeping fire‑fighting equipment on standby. Residents are advised to avoid gathering too close to the pyres and to follow any instructions from police or municipal officers. The warning aims to prevent accidents while allowing the cultural ceremony to proceed safely.
