A dump truck loaded with stones toppled onto a roadside car on the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway near Alwar, killing a Maharashtra resident who was standing nearby. The driver of the car, an onion trader, sustained only minor injuries.

Alwar, Rajasthan – Early on Tuesday, a stone‑filled dump truck lost control on the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway and rolled onto a car that was parked at the road shoulder. The vehicle, a small passenger car, was occupied by an onion trader and a passenger from Maharashtra.

According to local police, the dump truck, travelling in the opposite direction, veered off the carriageway and overturned, its load of stones crushing the parked car. The Maharashtra resident, identified as Munim, was standing close to the car when the wreckage fell and he was pinned under the debris, resulting in his death at the scene.

The onion trader inside the car escaped with minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for observation. Emergency services arrived promptly, securing the site and diverting traffic while investigators began a preliminary assessment of the cause of the truck's loss of control.

Authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident, focusing on vehicle speed, road conditions and compliance with load‑securing regulations. The Expressway remains partially closed as cleanup operations continue.

The accident underscores ongoing safety concerns on high‑speed corridors, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of cargo‑securing norms and better roadside assistance infrastructure.
