According to IMDb, the sci‑fi project that Spielberg shelved years ago is being redeveloped as a television series.
Steven Spielberg’s long‑awaited science‑fiction venture, which was abandoned during development, is set to re‑emerge as a television series, IMDb confirmed on its platform. The original film, conceived by the acclaimed director, never moved beyond the scripting stage and was officially put on hold years ago.
Industry observers note that Spielberg has a history of revisiting dormant projects, especially those in the speculative genre, to adapt them for contemporary audiences. While the exact narrative of the new series has not been disclosed, the revival signals a shift from a cinematic format to episodic storytelling.
The series is currently in the early development phase, with production partners and casting decisions yet to be announced. No premiere date has been set, and further details are expected to be released as the project progresses.
