Spider‑Man: Brand New Day opened on Friday and saw a surge in ticket sales on its second day, pulling in $42 million in the United States and eclipsing the $38.5 million record set by its predecessor. The film’s strong opening is the highest Tuesday take for a Spider‑Man movie in U.S. history.
Globally, the movie has accumulated $1.1 billion in revenue, making it the highest‑grossing film of the year to date.
The success underscores the continued appeal of the Marvel franchise and bodes well for Disney’s upcoming releases.
