A high‑speed car collided with a motorcycle on the Dhurwar Tiraha stretch of NH‑43 in Shahdol district, killing one rider on the spot and the other later in a medical college.

A vehicle travelling at high speed struck a motorcycle from the front on the Dhurwar Tiraha section of National Highway 43 in Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh. The collision caused the motorcycle rider to be thrown forward, resulting in immediate fatal injuries to one of the two occupants.
The second rider, who survived the initial impact, was rushed to a nearby medical college where he was placed under intensive care. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
Local police arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, cordoned off the highway and began an investigation to determine the cause of the overspeeding. Preliminary reports suggest the car was traveling well above the permissible limit, but the final report will confirm any violations.
Authorities have informed the families of the deceased and are conducting standard post‑accident procedures, including collection of vehicle details and witness statements. The stretch of NH‑43 remained closed for a few hours to facilitate rescue operations and clearance of the wreckage.
The incident underscores growing concerns over reckless driving on national highways in central India, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of speed limits and improved road safety measures.
