The Indian Meteorological Department has confirmed that the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from ten districts of Odisha, marking a shift in the seasonal rainfall pattern.
The Indian Meteorological Department announced that the southwest monsoon has now withdrawn from ten districts across Odisha, signalling the beginning of the seasonal retreat.
This withdrawal is part of the regular north‑westward movement of the monsoon as it recedes from the Indian subcontinent after the peak rainfall period.
Officials said they will continue to monitor weather conditions in the remaining districts that are still under monsoon influence, and advise farmers and local authorities on any necessary precautions.
The shift may affect short‑term water availability and agricultural planning, but the department emphasized that the overall monsoon season remains on track for the state.
