South Western Railway plans to start the 16‑hour Bengaluru‑Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Express on November 1, with fare details under discussion.

South Western Railway has put forward a proposal to commence the much‑awaited Bengaluru‑Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Express from 1 November. The new service will connect Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru with Maharashtra’s financial hub Mumbai, offering a faster overnight option for passengers.

The train is expected to cover the distance in approximately 16 hours, significantly reducing travel time compared with existing services. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will feature modern amenities and sleeper‑class accommodation, aiming to enhance comfort on long‑distance journeys.

A draft fare structure is currently being discussed by railway officials. Final ticket prices will be announced after the fare schedule is finalized, with the railway indicating that the rates will be competitive to attract both business and leisure travelers.

If approved, the service will commence operations on 1 November, adding a premium yet affordable option to the South Western Railway’s portfolio and potentially boosting connectivity between the two major metros.
