Women volunteers known as Solar Didis have been educating residents in Uttar Pradesh about installing rooftop solar panels, aiming to boost clean energy use.
Solar Didis, a grassroots initiative led by women volunteers, have been touring neighbourhoods across Uttar Pradesh to promote rooftop solar installations.
The team visits homes, demonstrates how solar panels work, and explains the financial incentives available through government schemes.
Early feedback suggests that many residents are now considering solar as a viable option, with several households already signing up for installations.
The program plans to expand to more districts this year, aiming to increase the state’s solar capacity and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
