A tempo traveling on the Delhi‑Mumbai road in Kota district with about 25 passengers fell into a drain, killing six people.

Kota district in Rajasthan witnessed a tragic road accident on the Delhi‑Mumbai corridor when a tempo loaded with roughly 25 passengers veered off and plunged into a roadside drain. The vehicle lost control near the Semlaya area and fell into the water channel, causing a sudden impact.

Emergency services arrived quickly, extracting survivors and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Six of the occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining passengers sustained varying injuries.

Local police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the loss of control, and officials have warned commuters to exercise caution on the expressway, especially in sections with inadequate drainage.

The incident underscores ongoing safety concerns on high‑speed corridors that connect major cities across the country.
