Sikkim BJP Endorses EC Clarification on SIR, Dismisses Opposition Manipulation Claims

The Sikkim unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party welcomed the Election Commission’s clarification on the SIR and rejected the opposition’s allegations of vote manipulation.
The Sikkim branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party publicly backed the Election Commission’s recent clarification concerning the SIR, stating that the clarification addressed earlier queries raised by political stakeholders.
In the same statement, the BJP dismissed the opposition’s claims that the SIR was being used to manipulate electoral outcomes, calling the allegations baseless and urging focus on a fair voting process.
The party’s endorsement came shortly after the Election Commission issued the clarification in response to a request for transparency ahead of upcoming state elections. BJP leaders emphasized confidence in the Commission’s impartiality and urged all parties to respect its decisions.
Opposition groups, however, have called for a deeper inquiry into the SIR’s methodology, but the BJP maintained that the EC’s clarification suffices to ensure a level playing field for voters.
