While topping up his mobile in Sikar, Rajasthan, Samir Khan received a bank notification stating that ₹1 lakh crore had been blocked in his account, leaving him bewildered.
Samir Khan, who works at a medical store in Sikar district of Rajasthan, was attempting to recharge his mobile phone on Wednesday when he received an unexpected notification from his bank. The message claimed that an amount of one lakh crore rupees had been blocked in his account.
The unusually large figure and the abrupt nature of the alert left Khan stunned, prompting him to verify the status of his account. He reported that the message appeared on his phone screen during the recharge process, and no transaction had been initiated by him.
Bank officials have not yet commented on the incident, and local authorities are being approached to investigate whether the alert was a technical glitch, a phishing attempt, or part of a broader scam targeting mobile users in the region. Residents are advised to exercise caution and verify any such communications directly with their banks before taking action.
