Shubman Gill recorded his second double hundred in One Day Internationals, joining only one other player to achieve the feat.
Shubman Gill added another double century to his ODI record, making him the second batsman in the format's history to score two double hundreds. The innings came in a rain‑affected match, but Gill's aggressive stroke play and steady partnership propelled his side to a competitive total. His knock, which crossed the 200‑run mark, was built on a mix of boundaries and well‑timed singles, showcasing his adaptability across conditions.
Gill's achievement places him alongside the only other player to have multiple ODI double centuries, underscoring his rising stature in international cricket. The performance came as part of a series that has seen intermittent rain interruptions, yet his consistency remained evident.
Cricket analysts noted that Gill's ability to convert starts into big scores could be pivotal for India's upcoming fixtures, especially in sub‑continental conditions where the pitch can swing between dry and damp. The milestone adds to his growing list of accolades and strengthens his case for a permanent spot in the top order.
