India's opening batsman Shubman Gill has rejoined Punjab's Ranji Trophy side ahead of their next fixture.
Shubman Gill, the 24-year-old opening batsman who has been a regular feature in India's Test and limited‑overs squads, has returned to domestic cricket by re‑joining Punjab's Ranji Trophy team. The move comes after a brief hiatus during which he was involved in international commitments and a short injury lay‑off.
Gill's inclusion is expected to bolster Punjab's batting line‑up, which has struggled for consistency early in the season. Team officials said his experience at the highest level will provide both stability and a morale boost to younger players in the side.
Punjab is slated to play its next Ranji Trophy match later this week, though the opponent has not been disclosed in the available reports. Gill will be available for selection, and his performance will be closely watched by national selectors as the board assesses form ahead of upcoming overseas tours.
