Shreyas Iyer scored a hundred as India defeated West Indies in the opening T20 International of the series.
India opened their T20 International series against the West Indies with a decisive victory, anchored by Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten century. Iyer’s 100 runs provided the backbone of the Indian innings, allowing the side to set a competitive total that the visitors could not chase. The West Indies fell short despite a fighting effort, handing India a comfortable win in the first match of the bilateral series.
The milestone marks Iyer’s first T20I hundred, underscoring his growing importance in the middle order. Team India’s bowlers complemented the batting performance by restricting the West Indian lineup, ensuring the lead was maintained throughout the game. The win gives India momentum heading into the remaining fixtures of the series.
Both teams will look to build on their performances, with the next T20I scheduled shortly. Indian fans and analysts will be watching closely to see if Iyer can replicate his form and whether the West Indies can bounce back in the upcoming matches.
