The Shiromani Akali Dal has begun its election outreach with a door‑to‑door canvassing drive and a bus rally departing from Talwandi Sabo, ahead of a large public meeting planned for Dec 8 in Moga.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (ShiAd) announced today that its grassroots election drive will commence with a door‑to‑door canvassing operation across Punjab. Party workers are being mobilised to visit households, distribute literature and gauge voter sentiment as the party seeks to strengthen its position ahead of the upcoming polls.
Concurrently, a bus rally will set off from Talwandi Sabo, the historic seat of the party's leadership, carrying senior leaders and supporters to various towns in the state. The procession is intended to showcase the party's unity and to rally its base ahead of the election season.
In addition to the current outreach, the party has scheduled a massive public meeting on December 8 in the historic village of Killi Chahlan, Moga. The gathering is timed to coincide with the birthday of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, a revered figure within the party, and is expected to draw large crowds.
Party officials said the combined door‑to‑door and bus campaigns are designed to re‑energise the party's cadre and connect directly with voters, especially in rural constituencies where ShiAd traditionally enjoys support.
The initiatives come as the political landscape in Punjab intensifies, with several parties vying for influence ahead of the state assembly elections slated for early next year.
