Police in Kota's Anantpura sector discovered a partially clothed female corpse floating in water accumulated in an empty plot, with a tattoo reading ‘MD’ and a star symbol on her hand; her identity remains unknown.
Kota police officials responded to a report of a body floating in stagnant water at a vacant plot in the Cremation Basti of Anantpura. The water‑filled depression, which had been unused for months, yielded the semi‑naked remains of a young woman when officers waded in to retrieve it.
The deceased was found without clothing, and investigators noted a distinct tattoo on one hand that read the letters “MD” alongside a small star-shaped mark. These identifiers have become the primary clues for the ongoing investigation.
Forensic teams have been called to the scene to conduct a post‑mortem examination and to extract DNA samples. Police spokesperson said that efforts are underway to match the tattoo and DNA with missing‑person records, but no positive identification has been achieved so far.
Authorities have cordoned off the area and are questioning local residents to gather any information about the victim’s possible whereabouts or activities prior to the discovery. The case remains open as investigators continue their search for leads.
