Officials have announced plans to expand the Selaulim-Kalay water pipeline, aiming to improve supply to the region.
The government has confirmed that the expansion of the Selaulim‑Kalay water pipeline is now on the cards, following a detailed feasibility study.
The project, which will extend the existing pipeline network, is expected to increase water delivery capacity by approximately 30 % and reduce pressure losses in the system.
Construction is slated to begin in the next fiscal quarter, with an estimated cost of ₹150 crore and a completion target of 18 months. The expansion is part of a broader initiative to upgrade water infrastructure across Goa.
Local authorities have highlighted that the upgrade will support both domestic consumption and agricultural irrigation, potentially boosting productivity in the surrounding districts.
