In a sweep across Sehore, police uncovered 585 yards of gunpowder and 30 kilograms of explosives hidden in local shops and residences.
Earlier this week, the Parvati Police unit in Sehore conducted a coordinated raid across several commercial premises and residential houses, uncovering a large cache of illicit explosives.
Authorities seized 585 yards of gunpowder, commonly referred to as 'gajkundi', along with 30 kilograms of other explosive materials, all of which were stored without any permits.
The discovery comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, with officials warning that such stockpiles pose a serious threat to public safety.
Investigators are now examining the chain of custody and will likely file charges against the individuals responsible for the illegal procurement and storage.
The police have assured the public that the seized materials have been safely dismantled and that further probes will continue to prevent any potential misuse.
