Olympic bronze medalist Savita Punia has expressed interest in having Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra portray her in an upcoming biographical film.
Olympic bronze medalist Savita Punia has revealed that she would like Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra to play her in a forthcoming biopic. The Delhi-born shooter, who won bronze in the women's 10‑metre air pistol at the 2020 Tokyo Games, said the choice of Chopra would bring the right blend of star power and acting skill to the story.
Punia, who has already been a prominent figure in Indian shooting circles, believes that Chopra’s global appeal could help bring wider attention to the sport and inspire young athletes. She added that the actress’s experience in portraying strong female characters would be an asset.
The biopic is still in early stages, with no official production house announced. However, the suggestion has sparked interest among fans and industry insiders alike.
"It would be a great opportunity to showcase my journey on a big screen," Punia said in a recent interview. "Priyanka’s presence would make the film resonate with a broader audience."
