The Union Government has named IAS officer Sajjan Singh Yadav as the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, succeeding the previous incumbent.

The central government announced that IAS officer Sajjan Singh Yadav will take over as the Chief Secretary of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by NDTV. This appointment places Yadav at the helm of the administrative machinery in the region, responsible for coordinating the work of all departmental secretaries and implementing government policies.

Sajjan Singh Yadav, a career civil servant, joins the J&K administration at a time when the government is focusing on development projects and security management in the valley. The Chief Secretary acts as the principal advisor to the Lieutenant Governor and oversees the execution of central and state schemes.

The move underscores the government's intent to strengthen bureaucratic leadership in the strategically sensitive region. Yadav's tenure is expected to align with ongoing efforts to improve governance, infrastructure, and public services across Jammu and Kashmir.
