Actress Saiyami Kher has publicly highlighted the industry's unequal treatment of women‑led projects, drawing a comparison with the success of Alia Bhatt’s films.
Saiyami Kher, who recently appeared in the film 'Haiwaan', took to social media to address the perceived double standard in Bollywood regarding women‑led projects.
She pointed out that while male‑led films receive ample marketing and distribution, women‑driven stories often struggle to secure similar support, despite the commercial success of actresses like Alia Bhatt.
Kher cited Bhatt’s recent releases as examples of how female talent can dominate box‑office charts, arguing that the industry's hesitation to back women‑centric narratives is unjustified.
Industry insiders have responded with mixed reactions, with some acknowledging the need for greater representation, while others defend the current market dynamics.
