Punjab’s Shiromani Akali Dal government announced plans to scrap the inspector‑heavy regime that has been hampering local businesses, according to Badal.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) government in Punjab has announced its intention to eliminate the "inspector raj" that it says has been a major obstacle to industrial growth.

Senior leader Badal stated that the administration will review existing inspection mechanisms and streamline procedures to reduce unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles for manufacturers and service providers.

Officials indicated that the reform aims to create a more business‑friendly environment, attract investment and improve the state’s competitiveness, although detailed implementation steps were not disclosed.

Industry bodies have welcomed the proposal, noting that excessive inspections often cause delays and added costs, but they have also urged the government to maintain safety and compliance standards.

The move is part of a broader effort by the state to boost manufacturing and align with national initiatives to improve ease of doing business.
