Sabarimala Temple Appoints New Melsanthi

The revered Sabarimala temple in Kerala has officially announced the appointment of a new melsanthi, the chief administrative officer responsible for overseeing temple rituals and operations. The decision was made by the temple’s governing board after a thorough selection process. The new melsanthi will take over from the previous incumbent, whose tenure concluded earlier this year.

The appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the management of the temple’s vast resources and to streamline the coordination of pilgrim services. Officials highlighted the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the temple while adapting to modern administrative practices.

The announcement was received with mixed reactions among devotees. While many welcomed the change, some expressed concerns about preserving traditional customs. The temple authorities assured that the new melsanthi would uphold the long-standing rituals and traditions that define Sabarimala’s spiritual heritage.
