Pending Rythu Bima insurance claims are mounting in Telangana as the state government has not yet released the promised compensation, leaving bereaved farmer families in limbo.

The Rythu Bima scheme, designed to provide financial relief to the families of deceased farmers in Telangana, is facing a backlog of claims. Over the past weeks, the number of pending applications has risen sharply, with many families reporting that they have submitted the required documents but are yet to receive any compensation.

State officials acknowledge the delay but cite verification procedures and funding constraints as the main reasons for the slowdown. Agricultural department sources said that the government is reviewing each claim to prevent fraud, but the process has stretched beyond the originally stipulated timeline.

Farmers' associations have begun pressing the administration for faster clearance, warning that prolonged waiting periods could exacerbate the financial distress of households already reeling from loss of income. They have called for a dedicated task force to expedite verification and disbursement.

The Telangana government has not provided a definitive date for clearing the backlog, but senior officials have assured that steps are being taken to accelerate payouts. In the meantime, affected families continue to depend on community support and informal credit to meet daily expenses.
