Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, arrived in Chhattisgarh on Oct 22 for a two‑day tour aimed at engaging local cadres and discussing regional issues.
Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), landed in Chhattisgarh on 22 October, marking the start of a scheduled two‑day visit to the state. The trip is intended to strengthen the organisation's grassroots network and to review ongoing programmes in the region.
During the stay, Bhagwat is expected to address gatherings of RSS volunteers, meet local leaders and interact with members of affiliated groups. Officials from the state administration have been briefed about the itinerary, though detailed schedules have not been released publicly.
The visit comes at a time when the RSS is focusing on outreach in central Indian states, emphasizing issues such as tribal welfare, rural development and cultural preservation. Observers note that Bhagwat's presence may influence local political dynamics, given the organisation's extensive network across the state.
