RPF Seizes 14.8 Kg Silver Jewellery Worth Rs 36.34 Lakh at Gaya Junction

Under Operation Satark, the Railway Protection Force confiscated 14.835 kg of silver jewellery valued at about Rs 36.34 lakh at Gaya Junction, prompting an Income Tax probe.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a sweep at Gaya Junction in Bihar as part of its ongoing Operation Satark. Officers intercepted a large consignment of precious metal jewellery that was being moved through the railway network.
Investigators recovered exactly 14.835 kilograms of silver jewellery, which experts estimate to be worth roughly Rs 36.34 lakh. The haul represents one of the more significant seizures of unaccounted silver in the region this year.
Following the seizure, the Income Tax Department in Patna opened a formal investigation to trace the source of the jewellery and determine any tax evasion or illicit financial activity linked to the consignment.
