A large slab of plaster fell from the roof of a community hall in Bhawanipur village, Muzaffarpur district, while a young woman was conducting a class for children, leaving several injured.

A section of plaster from the roof of a community building in Bhawanipur, a village under the Hatodi police station of Muzaffarpur district, gave way and fell onto the verandah. The collapse occurred while a young woman was teaching a small group of children inside the hall.
Local residents rushed to the scene and the injured were taken to the nearest health centre. Reports indicate that a number of children and the teacher sustained injuries ranging from minor cuts to bruises, and they were provided with first‑aid before being shifted for further medical attention.
Police and the district administration have arrived at the site, secured the area and begun an inquiry into the cause of the failure. Officials said they would inspect the structural integrity of similar community facilities in the region to prevent a repeat of such incidents.
The incident has raised concerns about the maintenance of public buildings in rural Bihar, prompting calls for regular safety audits and timely repairs.
