Retired Judge Sanjeev Sharma Claims He Was Blocked From Chief Justice Post

Retired Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma has denied allegations that he was targeted for removal before he could be appointed as Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court. In a statement released on Monday, the former judge said the accusations were part of a planned campaign to block his promotion. He has also filed a request for permission to initiate a defamation suit against the parties making the claims. The Rajasthan High Court has yet to respond to the allegations. Sharma, who served as Acting Chief Justice in 2023, maintains that his record was unblemished and that the accusations are baseless.
